Bath Royal United
Bath Royal United Hospital

Rickie qualified in 1970 from Bath School of Physiotherapy. After hospital work, she moved to work in a special school in Bexhill-on-Sea where her interest in breathing exercises and rehabilitation for asthma started in 1979 with children. This developed further while working at Benenden Hospital in Kent with adults with chronic breathing problems, where she co-ordinated a multidisciplinary Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) course from 1998 - 2003.

Returning to the NHS in 2004, Rickie set up a service in Maidstone and the Weald of Kent, alongside a respiratory nurse to provide PR to people with COPD and other lung conditions. This ran successfully until 2010 when Rickie retired and her nurse colleague later joined the Respiratory Team in East Kent NHS area.
